Calpine, an independent power producer, acquired Champion Energy in October 2015. Calpine’s generation facilities are in many of the same markets we serve, allowing us to be more competitive in our current markets and expand to new markets.
There was a time in our business’ history where growth at any cost was attractive. However, we’ve learned from that particular mistake and now take a more measured approach.
