How to find the best energy plan in Latexo
#1 rule: Usage is king!
Knowing how much electricity you will use in a month is the ideal way to find a deal on electricity in Latexo. Why should you care?
The “price per kWh” you see energy providers advertising is for an exact monthly usage (typically 2000 kWh).
Every plan has a different equation for how your monthly statement is determined, and your monthly bill will be determined by how much energy you use in each month.
Unless you match the exact advertised usage each month, you will end up paying an effective “price per kWh” different than the one you saw advertised when you signed up.
Fortunately, there’s a better way to select your power rate.
Calculating your expected monthly bill based on anticipate monthly usage, then comparing options by total monthly bill, is the best way to shop for the lowest rate for your home.
Better yet, if you have 12 months of usage history for your home, you can compare plans by total annual cost. This annualized method takes into account the changes in usage between summer and winter months and is the ideal way to find the right energy rate plan for your home.
ComparePower does all the complicated math for you instantly. What could take you hours inside a spreadsheet is now done in just seconds.
We put you in the driver’s seat, taking what would amount to hours of research, spreadsheets, and computations across hundreds of offers and assist you step-by-step to the energy plan that’s best for your home’s usage.
We clarify the fine print, disclosing all fees and charges, so you’ll know precisely where your money is going and what to anticipate on your monthly bill.
We then help you in signing-up with your selected energy provider without leaving our website.
The take away here is you should determine your expected or historical usage before selecting the best energy plan for your home.
If you don’t know your usage, estimate
If you recently purchased a home or business, or you cannot obtain 12-months of usage history, you can always estimate the average amount of energy that you will use in any given month.
While not as optimal as having all previous 12-months of usage, estimating your average usage is better than blindly choosing the first plan you see advertised by an electricity company at a specific usage that isn’t what you’ll consume.
Use ComparePower to shop for the best energy plan for your specific usage.
Moving to Latexo: Setting up Electricity
If this is your first time setting up electricity service in Latexo, to get the best rate you need to get the previous 12-months of energy usage for your new home.

This information is readily found in recent billing statements.
It may take some effort to acquire usage for the past 12-months, but the time (and savings) will be well worth it.
Once you have historical usage, ComparePower will do the math instantly to help you find the best plan for your home’s usage pattern.
Note: If you are unable to obtain historical usage information, a second option would be to estimate your future usage via utilizing our “Help Me Choose” tool. By simply entering your zip code the tool will be able to assess your home’s projected electricity consumption.
Sign-up for a plan in minutes through ComparePower. We will remind you when its time to return to switch and save at the end of the plan length you decide on.
Switching electricity companies in Latexo
Switching is good. Market conditions are always changing, so it is essential to shop for a lower rate every year when your contract is close to expiring.
Your existing electricity provider will typically raise your energy rate once your contract expires. If you do not take action, you’ll be left on a month-to-month rate that is significantly higher than the plan you signed up.
Before renewing your contract make sure to shop the rates of competing energy providers.
Switching can save you hundreds or thousands of dollars each year on your electricity bill.
Switching is easy:
-
-
- You don’t have to call your current company to cancel (no “break-up call”)
- No one comes to your home
- There is no disruption in your power supply
- It takes just minutes
-
When you make the switch, your new electricity provider will take care of everything for you including canceling service with your previous company.
Your lights stay on when you switch. Electricity in Latexo is all delivered by the Oncor Transmission and Distribution Utility.
The wires and poles that deliver power to your home do not change when you switch energy providers. Therefore the reliability of your service is not affected.
You can pick any date up to 14 days early of your current contract’s end date without an “early termination” penalty. That’s Texas Law.
If you’re still under contract, check how many months remain on your contract. You can set a future start date with most companies up to 6o days in advance.
The amount saved each month by switching to a different electricity company may outweigh the one-time fee to get out of your contract early.
If you are unsure email us your latest energy bill and one of our team members will respond to you promptly with your best options.
If you’re ready to switch and would like to know how to find the best plan remember that understanding your usage is the best way to find the truly lowest price.
You will want to gather your historical usage for the last 12 months to determine the best plan with the lowest rate for your household.
